Windows XP, Windows 7, 8.1….when does it stop? Well, now apparently with Windows 10. No more versions they say, just updates. We shall see if that is truly the case.
If you are like me, you have wondered what the big deal is. Apparently Windows 10 has the start button back that everyone complained about when “8” came out and it was MIA. Frankly, I have gotten used to it by now in my 8.1 version. So, should I upgrade or not? According to my local reliable computer guru, it is a free upgrade for the first year. So there’s that. It is also new and there are “bugs” to work out, like any software. I don’t know about you, but I do not care for bugs….especially spiders! That being said, my “guru” suggested waiting at least until after the 6 months period (January) to make sure all is well before jumping on board the “10” bandwagon.
If you decide to go for it anyway, just know there are items of concern with the sharing of Wi-Fi and security issues. That last one alone causes me pause to wait. If you want to read about these concerns and more, a great resource for LOTS of things, but especially tech stuff is www.komando.com . I trust her judgement and resources so be sure and check it out. It is free, but Kim Komando does have a joining fee to access some material and articles. She is also on Facebook. Look her up!
